Job Summary:
We are seeking a results-driven Business Development Manager to drive growth and expansion within SURFIN's microfinance operations. The ideal candidate will develop partnerships, identify new business opportunities, and implement strategies to enhance financial inclusion. This role is crucial in scaling our operations, increasing our customer base, and driving revenue growth through sustainable microfinance solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Growth & Strategy:

Develop and implement business strategies to expand microfinance operations.

Identify and assess new market opportunities, customer segments, and product innovations.

Build relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and financial institutions.

Conduct market research to understand customer needs, competition, and emerging trends in microfinance.
Partnership Development:

Establish partnerships with MFIs, banks, fintech companies, and other financial service providers.

Collaborate with investors, donors, and development agencies to secure funding and technical assistance.

Negotiate agreements and strategic alliances that support business expansion.
Product & Service Innovation:

Develop and enhance microfinance products (e.g., microloans, group lending, savings schemes, insurance, and digital financial services).

Work with the product and operations teams to optimize loan assessment and risk management frameworks.

Leverage digital and fintech solutions to improve financial accessibility for underserved populations.
Sales & Revenue Generation:

Drive sales and marketing initiatives to achieve customer acquisition and revenue targets.

Monitor and optimize the performance of loan portfolios and other financial products.

Train and manage sales agents or field officers to ensure efficient service delivery.
Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management:

Ensure compliance with local and international microfinance regulations and policies.

Monitor credit risk, operational risk, and fraud prevention measures.

Implement best practices for responsible lending and customer protection.
Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.

5+ years of experience in business development or operations within the microfinance, fintech, or banking sector.

Proven track record in developing and executing growth strategies in financial services.

Strong understanding of microfinance products, financial inclusion strategies, and lending models.

Experience working with regulatory bodies, donors, or impact investors is a plus.
